TRAM is adapting its timetables for the night of Sunday, 23 June to the expected demand during the Sant Juan festival, with services running uninterrupted throughout the night.

From 5 a.m. on the morning of Sunday, 23 June until 12 p.m. on Monday, 24 June, the services on lines T1, T2, T3, T4 and T5 will run non-stop. From 11 p.m. until 5 a.m. frequencies from Francesc Macia to Montesa will be every 15 minutes and from Montesa to terminals every 30 minutes, while trams on line T4 will run every 20 minutes and on T5 every half hour.

On the occasion on this year’s Primavera Sound, TRAM line T4 will be providing uninterrupted services over a four-day period. On Wednesday, 29 May, the service will be extended until 1 a.m., while from 5 a.m. on Thursday, 30 May to midnight on Sunday, 2 June, trams will be running non-stop. With this uninterrupted timetable, TRAM will provide sustainable mobility for festival-goers at this major music festival held mainly in the Forum area.

This stepped-up service is the result of a partnership agreement with the festival organisers that has been renewed for the seventh year running. Thanks to this agreement, trams will be operating 24 hours a day from Thursday to Sunday on line T4, which runs from Estació de Sant Adrià to Ciutadella | Vila Olímpica.

TRAM will be offering a 24-hour service on line T4 from 5 a.m. on Thursday, 30 May until midnight on Sunday, 2 June. There will be double trams running, subject to availability, and the frequency between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m. will be every 12 minutes on Thursday and Friday and every 20 minutes on Saturday. In addition, on Wednesday, 29 May, the service on line T4 will be extended for an extra hour, with trams running every 12 minutes from midnight to 1 a.m.

TRAM will interrupt services on line T4 of the Trambesòs network and lines T1, T2 and T3 of the Trambaix network this Sunday, 26 May to accommodate the 10th Diagonal DiR - Guàrdia Urbana race.

On the Trambaix network services will be interrupted between Francesc Macià and Ernest Lluch from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., while line T4 of the Trambesòs network will be interrupted between the El Maresme and Ciutadella | Vila Olímpica stops from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Services on Trambaix are expected to resume at 9 a.m. and on Trambesòs at 10 a.m.

TRAM reminds users that these timetables are approximate and will depend on the organisation and progress of the race.

The rest of the lines on the Trambesòs network will be operating according to the usual timetable.

Barcelona, 3 May 2024. From 9 May, the new Glòries stop will be opened for tram lines T4, T5 and T6 in its definitive location in front of Design Hub Barcelona (DHub). On the same day, the La Farinera and Glòries Meridiana stops will be closed in order to begin the work to definitively remove them.

As of this date, trams will pick up passengers at the new stop in both directions and the pedestrian crossing on the Llobregat side will be opened. This signalled crossing will allow users to access the TRAM platforms and aid the flow of pedestrian traffic from the metro line L1 exit inside the square.

However, the urban development works will continue on most of the Glòries area and part of the tram infrastructure, with access restricted by means of fencing and signage.

The opening of the new station represents one of the key milestones in phase 1 of the works to connect the tram along Barcelona's Avinguda Diagonal, with the infrastructure work expected to be completed this spring ready for operational tests in the summer.

Information for users

In run up to the opening date, TRAM will post staff in the affected area (La Farinera, Glòries Meridiana and new Glòries stops) to provide users with information and guidance about the changes. Also leaflets with all the information will be available on the trams. The stops will also be duly signposted with posters and indications and information will be provided over the public address system.

In addition, the ATM, Barcelona City Council and TRAM will be providing information on their websites and social networks.

The TRAM Route offers a way to discover key sites, visit emblematic buildings and enjoy the gastronomy on offer in the areas surroundings of the tram line in Baix Llobregat. In addition, one of the great attractions of the Route is the discounts it includes for visiting these tourist and cultural sites accessible via the Trambaix network (lines T1, T2 and T3).

Those attending the launch of the 2024 campaign included the president of the Tourism Consortium and the Baix Llobregat Regional Council, Mrs. Eva M. The Route proposes tourist experiences and “TRAMendous breaks” throughout Baix Llobregat that are accessible on public transport, such as activities for the whole family to the Can Tinturé and La Rajoleta museums in Esplugues, the Mathematics Museum, or a ride on the little train in the Can Mercader park in Cornellà de Llobregat. You can also discover the Catalan art nouveau architecture of Jujol in Sant Joan Despí and awaken your senses with the interactive 360 degree experience, or take in the impressive Walden building in Sant Just Desvern.

All this, paired with a good gastronomic offering, since the Route also takes visitors to Baix Llobregat’s KM0 restaurants such as the legendary El Mirador in Sant Just Desvern, the modern Plats in Cornellà and the stunningly creative Locura in Sant Joan Despí. In addition, the Route will allow visitors to buy products with the Baix Llobregat Agricultural Park Fresh Produce seal in the local Farmers' Markets and to enjoy nature in urban parks such as Llobregat Park in Sant Feliu de Llobregat, Torrents Park in Esplugues, and Torreblanca Park, which runs through Sant Feliu de Llobregat, Sant Joan Despí and Sant Just Desvern.

All the information on the Route can be found at www.rutadeltram.cat, as well as on the different TRAM and Baix Llobregat Tourism Consortium platforms. And to enjoy the experience and the special discounts, all you have to do is visit the website, activate the promotion and show it to the establishments so that they can apply the discount directly.

The campaign is active from today until 2024 and will be promoted over the coming months through the digital channels of the Baix Llobregat Tourism Consortium and TRAM, posters and leaflets inside the trams, ads at the stops and a moving billboard on a tram running on the Trambaix network.

Qualifying tournament for the Paris 2024 Paralympics

In its seventh edition, the TRAM Barcelona Open has held onto its position in the top category – ITF1, making it the only tournament in this category in our country. This year it will once again be showcasing some of the world’s most exciting players, consolidating it as one of the 10 most important tournaments in the international Uniqlo Wheelchair Tennis Tour. It is also a qualifying tournament for the 2024 Paris Paralympics, as well as the preferred warm-up tournament for the clay court tour prior to the French Open.

Wheelchair tennis is a spectacular sport, with more than 1,000 players in the international ranking and 180 tournaments a year in 40 countries around the world. The only difference to standard tennis is that the ball is allowed to bounce twice, if necessary. Even so, players at this level of competition only use a single bounce on 80% of the points, and the speed of serves can reach 150 km/h.

With the TRAM Barcelona Open, for five days the capital of Catalonia, a key city for the worlds of tennis and sport in general, will become a major hub for adapted sports and, on Saturday 25 May and the morning of Sunday 26 May, it will host the finals in the doubles and quad categories, before the grand finals in the men’s and women’s singles categories.

Social goals

In addition to its sporting objectives, the TRAM Barcelona Open also has social goals, specifically bringing visibility to wheelchair tennis and the values it represents – such as equal opportunities and social inclusion (with a special focus on children and young people), through exhibitions, clinics, talks to schools and different activities held to coincide with the tournament.

The TRAM Barcelona Open will be open to the public, and tickets, which are free of charge, can be reserved through the tournament website (www.barcelona-open.com). The tournament can also be followed live through its official mobile app (TRAM Barcelona Open) available through the App Store and Google Play Store.
